Tapeworms are hermaphroditic animals, meaning they have both male and female sex organs. When a tapeworm mates with another, they cross inseminate each other's eggs. These fertilized eggs fall from the tapeworm's body and leave the host's body via its excrement, and a different animal will eat the excrement and become the new host to the newborn tapeworms.
