oregon Giant earthworm- driloleirus macelfreshi
Oregon Giant Earthworms have not been sighted particularly often, however, the first documented sighting was in 1937 in Salem. This particular worm can reach up to lengths of 3 feet and a diameter of 1 inch. Like the Washington Giant Earthworms, these worms tunnel deep into the ground during times of drought, however they like in moist soil and forest-like environments. Due to establishment, forests are being cut down, threatening their existence. If this continues, these worms will be seen no more than they are now.
